Snowy OwlThe Snowy Owl, Nyctea scandiaca, feed on small rodents such as voles and lemmings. The owls are opportunistic and will feed on other types of birds and their eggs. Snow owls build there nest on the ground, typically higher than the surrounding grounds, to have good visibility to predators and prey. The thick layers of feathers on their body and feet is an adaptation for them to survive the cold winters of the arctic. |
Common RavenThe scientific name for a common raven is Corvus corax. These ravens are omnivorous, and is very opportunistic in finding sources of nutrition, such as berries, animals, food waste, and other things. Ravens prefer open land with wood nearby for their nesting sites and feeding. These ravens can survive very well in any grounds, including the tundra, because of their opportunistic personalities.

GyrfalconThe scientific name for Gyrfalcon, also know as the gerfalcon, is Falco rusticolus. It feeds only on birds and mammals, and kills usually on ground. The Gyrfalcon build nests on cliffs or use abandoned nests used mostly by Common Falcons. These birds have a long history with humans, mainly used for hunting and the art of falconry. |
