Limiting Factors
- Cold Temperature- The cold temperature makes organisms hard to survive.
- Limited Growing Seasons- The tundra, which is cold most of the time, is very hard to farm on. People who live at the tundra have limited growing seasons in the year to produce and farm what they need.
- Poor Soil- The permafrost makes it very hard to dig through the soil and farm things.
Effect of humans on the Tundra
- Global Warming (The Greenhouse Effect) - Global warming is causing the Earth's temperature to rise, which causes the ice to melt in the arctic.
- Hunting- People are now over hunting and destroying the environment. Over hunting can cause some animals to become endangered, and also can affect all other parts of the food chain. .
